Reconditioning Services
Two-Stroke Piston Crowns
- The DMI process involves detailed Inspection, Pre-machining in way of damaged crown top, worn ring grooves and other affected areas to the base metal.
- Complete building up by automatic Submerged Arc Welding on a specially designed positioner.
- Stress Relieving under precise controlled conditions.
- Machining to the correct dimensional sizes.
- Hard Chrome Plating of piston ring grooves as per OEM recommendations and grinding to finished size.
- Pressure Testing and Certification.
Four-Stroke Piston Crowns
Both steel and cast iron piston crowns are reconditioned by:
- Machining and Grinding of ring grooves to remove the worn and damaged material.
- Hard Chrome Plating of the ring grooves and Grinding to standard or next oversize as per OEM recommendation.
- Pressure Testing and Certification.
Aluminum pistons are reconditioned by using specialised Welding and Plating technology.
Cylinder Covers
- Detailed Inspection and Pre-machining in way of burnt area to base metal.
- Building up the eroded area on a specially designed automatic welding positioner.
- Stress Relieving prior to Finish Machining.
- Final Machining on all valve ports, landing face and cooling bores as per OEM recommendations.
- Pressure Testing and Certification.
Piston Skirts
